About/History

Videographer/photographer based on the western slopes of the US. Most of my time is spent throughout the year traveling, planning, chasing snow, and documenting snowboarding. In the warmer months, I spend a lot of time editing and I tend to look for a setting closer to the ocean to thaw from the winter.

I’ve always been on snow. I worked my way up to become a pro snowboarder from 2008-2018, and my life always involved being around cameras. Throughout a handful of years being in front of a lens, I made sure to always own a camera of my own and document what was happening around me. I took film classes in Salt Lake City and I had always suspected that once my body couldn’t handle any more bails, there would be a time to make the move to behind the lens.

In 2018 I was given the opportunity to dive straight into directing, filming, and editing full length snowboard videos under Snowboarder Magazine. Going from rider to director, I used my knowledge from both sides of the camera and focused on creating a good group dynamic, to bring the best riding out of someone, and to try to make the videos as special as possible. I try to pay close attention to every aspect of what goes into a full production. From minor details, planning trips, people management, collaborating with artists and brands, to creating schedules and deliverables, even including secret easter eggs for only the true snowboard nerds and history buffs to find - I became hands on from start to finish.

In 2021, I became Video Director of Slush the Magazine, a new snowboarding publication born from the same management that grew Snowboarder Mag. My job there covers creation of full length videos, online video series, product videos, event video coordination, photography, social media content creation, writing, and anything else the mag needs help on. If it has to do with riding on snow, its on my radar.
